COVID-19: Nasarawa receives 61,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines
The Nasarawa State Government has confirmed the receipt of 61,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines from the Federal Government.
Dr Emmanuel Akabe, Deputy Governor of the state gave the confirmation on Tuesday while inspecting vaccines storage facility at the central medical store in Lafia.
Akabe, who is the chairman of the state Taskforce on COVID-19, said the taskforce would ensure proper distribution of the vaccines across the 13 local government areas of the state for the vaccination of residents.
He thanked President Muhammadu Buhari, the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19, and the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency for allocating the vaccines to the state.
Akabe noted that the central medical facility had the capacity to store over four million vaccines.
The deputy governor was accompanied on the inspection visit by Ahmed Yahaya, Commissioner for Health and Mohammed Adis, Executive Chairman of Primary Healthcare Development Agency.
