Death toll rises to 10 in Israeli airstrike on Southern Lebanon

The death toll from an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon has risen to 10, including two children, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry and state media on Saturday. Most of the victims were Syrian nationals.

The airstrike hit a brick mill on the outskirts of Al-Kafour, a town in the Nabatiyeh district. Initial reports suggested the target was a residential building.

Among those killed was the Syrian caretaker of the mill and his entire family.

Five others were injured in the strike, with some in critical condition, according to the health ministry.

The Israeli army claimed the airstrike targeted a Hezbollah weapons depot in the Nabatiyeh area and also conducted artillery strikes in other parts of southern Lebanon to neutralize perceived threats.

The army stated that reports of civilian casualties are under review.

The escalation comes amid ongoing clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces, which have been exchanging fire daily since the Gaza war began in October. Over 120 civilians have been killed, most of them on the Lebanese side.
