Fidelity Bank partners with ImpactHER, trains over 1,200 Women in digital, AI skills
As part of its commitment to empowering women with essential entrepreneurship skills, Fidelity Bank Plc has partnered with ImpactHER to offer a new round of free digital and Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills training for women in business.
The training, held from August 19 to August 23, 2024, successfully equipped 1,276 women entrepreneurs with valuable digital and AI skills.
Highlighting the significance of this initiative, Osita Ede, Divisional Head of Product Development at Fidelity Bank, emphasized the vital role female entrepreneurs play in Nigeria’s economy, stating, “Women-led small businesses account for over 40% of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria, underscoring their critical role in driving economic growth.”
Ede added that empowering female entrepreneurs with the skills needed to run successful businesses aligns with Fidelity Bank’s mission to promote growth and prosperity.

The online training, organized by ImpactHER, covered essential topics such as email marketing, using AI for content creation, and branding and positioning strategies.
Efe Ukala, Founder of ImpactHER, explained the importance of providing free training, noting that women and girls in Africa are significantly less likely to leverage digital technology.
“Data shows that Africa could add $180 billion to its GDP by 2025 by closing the e-commerce digital gap,” she said. “By offering this training at no cost and collaborating with supporters like Fidelity Bank, we’re working to make these vital skills accessible to women entrepreneurs who can drive this economic growth.”
The collaboration between Fidelity Bank and ImpactHER demonstrates their shared commitment to providing accessible, high-quality training for women entrepreneurs. Participants praised the program’s practical approach and the immediate relevance of the skills learned, paving the way for future collaborations aimed at empowering more women across Nigeria.
Since the partnership began, 5,719 women entrepreneurs have been trained. Fidelity Bank, recognized as one of Nigeria’s leading banks, continues to support small businesses through various initiatives, earning multiple local and international awards for its efforts in SME development and financial services.
