Four injured as three-storey building collapses on Lagos Island
Panic gripped residents of Lagos Island on Thursday morning as a three-storey building collapsed on Asesi Lane, near Adeniji Adele Road, injuring several occupants and prompting an urgent emergency response.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of the day, left multiple residents trapped under the rubble before emergency responders arrived at the scene.
According to an update by Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, four people were rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
“Four persons have been rescued from the rubble. They have been taken to hospital,” Omotoso said in a Facebook post.
Officials from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), alongside other emergency services, swiftly mobilised to the site to commence search and rescue operations.
