Four kidnappers in police net in Adamawa
The Nigeria Police on Thursday revealed the arrest of four kidnappers in Ngurore, Yola South Local Government Area, Adamawa State. They were arrested by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Adamawa State Police Command.
The Adamawa State Police Command disclosed that the arrested kidnappers confessed to kidnapping of a widow and her daughter in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), in Adamawa State, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, in a statement revealed the identity of the arrested kidnappers to include Buba Ibrahim, Tumba Alhaji Dan Bappa, Buba Alhaji Abdu and Abdullahi Lawal.
The PPRO stated that items recovered from the kidnappers include one AK-47 Rifle with 16 rounds of lives ammunition.
Beside confessing to the kidnap of a widow, Hauwa Umaru and her daughter, the PPRO said that they also attacked the Divisional Police headquarters in Ngurore.
The Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde, had ordered the arrested of the four kidnappers after receiving information of their nefarious activities and threats to live and property of residents.
The PPRO said that Babangida, one of the principal suspects in the kidnap operation, was arrested after the arrest of others who provided clue for the successful operations.
The PPRO added that the arrested kidnappers in their confessions, disclosed how they kidnapped one Alhaji Bahago of Ibbare, and other victims, including the attack on Ngurore police station last Sunday.
The PPRO said that the suspects will be arraigned in court on completion of investigations.
