Four mountaineers die in separate accidents in the Italian Alps
Four mountaineers have died in a series of accidents across northern Italy’s Alps, highlighting the inherent risks of mountain climbing. Rescue operations were launched in the wake of the tragedies, which occurred in Piedmont, Trentino, and Veneto.
Four mountaineers lost their lives in separate accidents in the Italian Alps on Sunday, as reported by the mountain rescue service.
The tragic incidents occurred in the northern regions of Veneto, Trentino, and Piedmont, involving three men and one woman.
Rescue teams were quickly mobilized, deploying helicopters and multiple units to the affected areas.
In the Piedmont region, a man fell more than 400 meters from Rocciamelone, prompting a complex recovery operation to retrieve his body.
In Trentino, a 26-year-old man died after losing his balance and falling approximately 30 meters into a ravine, where he landed in a riverbed.

Meanwhile, in Veneto, another man fell into a crevice, and a woman tragically fell while abseiling.
The incidents underscore the dangers faced by mountaineers in the region, prompting renewed discussions about safety measures in Italian Alps alpine activities.
