FRSC warns against overloading vehicles
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has reaffirmed its dedication to prosecuting motorists found engaging in overloading in Ondo State.
Ezekiel SonAllah, the FRSC sector commander, issued this warning during an interview following a solitary accident that resulted in one fatality and eight injuries on Saturday in Ondo.
He said a burst tyre of an overloaded vehicle caused the crash, adding that any driver caught with the overloaded vehicle would face severe punishment.
The accident occurred at about 4:12 p.m. at Amurin Junction along Owo/Akure Expressway in Owo LGA.

The FRSC commander explained that the vehicle, a Toyota Hiace marked LD-27-KPA, with nine passengers on board, was involved in the fatal accident that claimed the life of one person on the spot.
Overloading a truck isdangerous because it comes with risks of poor braking, high rollover, mechanical failures, and losing control
SonAllah said the victims had been taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, for treatment while the vehicle and its goods had been handed over to Uso Police Station.
“As a passenger, if you know that the vehicle is overloaded and you value your life, you don’t need to enter such a vehicle,” said the FRSC official.
