I didn’t abandon my baby, Portable reacts
By Orukpe Rebecca.
Nigerian streets pop singer Portable has responded to allegations by his second baby mama, Honey Berry, accusing him of abandoning their son for four months. Portable claims that he did not abandon the baby as alleged, but instead, the woman misappropriated all the funds he had sent for the baby’s upkeep and used them to enjoy herself. He went further to describe Berry as a prostitute and disclosed details of their relationship, stating that he took an interest in her only because she was pregnant with his child.
During his live stream, Portable accused Berry of working as a “hooker” and continued the lifestyle even while they were together. He further claims that he eventually threw her out of his house because of her wrongdoing and that she was also trying to come between him and his primary wife, Bewaji. This latest confession comes after Honey Berry accused Portable of neglecting their son and failing to provide for his upkeep during her live stream.
Portable, who is an artiste famous for his controversial and explicit songs, is known to have fathered children with several women. He currently has children with his first wife Bewaji and Yoruba actress Ashabi, but he claims that there are more women than have been publicly revealed. The singer’s statement appears to confirm rumors that he is, in fact, involved with many women and this recent controversy only serves to shed more light on his complicated personal life.
Regardless of the allegations and counter-claims, Portable’s situation adds to the growing list of celebrity scandals related to their relationships and children. It is widely believed that more needs to be done to address issues such as abuse, financial neglect, and other related matters in the country. Celebrities are often looked upon as role models by fans, but their actions, in some cases, raise ethical concerns and affect their public image. Thus, it is necessary for celebrities to act in a manner that aligns with acceptable behavior and positive values.
