Icardi has a new club, Coutinho waits for PSG
Mauro Icardi has been sent home from Inter Milan’s pre-season and told he will not take part in any of their tour of Asia. It all-but confirms that the Argentina striker is on his way out of the club as Antonio Conte plots for life without the captain.
In other news, Former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho has not held talks with Paris Saint-Germain amid speculation about his future at Barcelona. Coutinho has been linked with a return to Anfield and a move to the Reds’ fierce rivals Man United after falling out of favour at Barca.
His agent Kia Joorabchian told Sky Sports: “Paris Saint-Germain are a great club, but we have had no contact about Philippe with them whatsoever. “We’ve never had a conversation with them about Philippe and we know them very well. It’s never been in consideration. “It’s something that if it comes to the point that Barcelona would like Philippe to leave then we would do what is best for him.”
Joorabchian added: “Coutinho has never spoken about leaving. At the moment we are extremely calm and haven’t gone out to get an offer because we’ve been told categorically that he is not for sale. “But Liverpool lies very deeply in his heart, he has a strong affinity with the club so it would be difficult for him to go to one of their direct rivals.”
