If CBN governor who prints money can aspire for president, they don’t care about you – Adamu Garba
A presidential aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adamu Garba recently took to his Facebook page to share with Nigerians how he felt about the purchase of Presidential nomination forms by Governors, Ministers, and others in the All Progressives Congress. Adamu Garba said,
“If the main monetary policy engineer and CBN governor, who prints and directs the distribution of money all over the economy can openly become partisans while still in active duty, and even aspire to be President, then they don’t care about you. If ministers can be distributing 100s of cars to buy their way to governorship tickets, something they never even contemplated doing earlier, then they don’t care about your future. It’s all about power.”
Apart from Adamu Garba, many other Nigerians have reacted to the alleged collection of Presidential nomination forms by the CBN Governor. Governor Akeredolu in an epistle written on his Facebook page has asked the CBN Governor to immediately resign from historical work or leave the position he is aspiring for.
The fear of those that have condemned him for declaring is that he might be partisan in his aspiration to become the president of Nigeria. Emefiele is in charge of All monetary responsibility in Nigeria which can be used to witch hunt other aspirants and even lead to the use of the public fund for political gains.
However, the purchase of Presidential nomination forms by anybody in Nigeria is a right that can be fulfilled by anybody. What is only expected of these political office holders is for them to resign days before the election which they are not doing. The president should have implemented the law and asked all aspirants to resign before purchasing forms, this would have reduced the reactions from Nigerians.
