Insecurity: Adeboye clarifies misrepresentation of ‘fire for fire’
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Sunday clarified the misrepresentation of “fire for fire,” when he warned that the devil will no longer be tolerated in the killing of worshipers. The renowned cleric explained that his utterance: “Let the devil try any nonsense. From now on, it’s going to be fire for fire,” dpoo4s not imply that Christians should acquire guns.
Pastor Adeboye at a thanksgiving service at Mount Carmel Prayer Village, Ifeiwara, Osun State, on Sunday, stated, “I never asked Christians to go and buy guns; you didn’t hear that from me.” He said that Christians do not need gun to fight the devil.
Pastor Adeboye, accordingly, emphasised: “Now, there are one or two things that were said during the Holy Ghost Service; I believe some people might want to misrepresent.
“You don’t need guns. Samson never bought an AK-47; he fought with the jawbone of an ass. So, don’t go and buy guns. In any case, they won’t give you permission.”
He insisted that the Church is prepared to prevent unwanted visitors from entering churches to kill.
Pastor Adeboye, therefore, declared: “Don’t buy guns. We don’t want to kill anyone, right? We just want to make sure that unwanted visitors don’t come to our churches.”
