Justice Nyako orders DSS to allow Kanu practise Judaism, have changes of clothes
The trial of the detained IPOB’s leader Nnamdi Kanu has been shifted from January 19 to 18 next year.
In addition to Kanu’s layer Ifeanyi Ejiofor’s abridgement application she granted, Justice Binta Nyako on Thursday also ordered the DSS to allow Kanu practice his faith (Judaism), change his cloth, and enjoy as much comfort as possible.
Ejiofor’s application was initially opposed by Shuaib Labaran, who stood for the federal government.
Labaran told the court that a counter affidavit opposing the request by the government has been filled and served on Kanu.
Justice Nyako however cut in, and told Ejiofor application for time abridgment cannot be considered because there is no judicial time for such an issue.
The case diary of the court was read to the lawyer to let him know there other cases the court has to attend o.
But Justice Nyako agreed to shift other cases slated for January 18 to accommodate the trial which will last till January 19 and 20.
