Kaduna 2023: Sen Uba Sani, Budget Commissioner Sani Datijjo join governorship race
Senator Uba Sani, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, and Commissioner for Planning and Budget in Kaduna State, Sani Datijjo, have both joined the 2023 governorship race in the state to succeed Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
Senator Uba Sani and the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Sani Datijjo, declared their intention to contest the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State.
Senator Uba Sani at the APC State Secretariat in Kaduna disclosed his intention at a meeting with the State Working Committee.
The senator noted that after over 20 years of working with Governor El-Rufai, he is the best man for the job of governing the state on the aspiration of the governor’s tenure, adding that he will deliver on transformational leadership.
As Senator Uba Sani took over the state secretariat for his meeting and declaration, Sani Datijjo moved his consultation and declaration to the State legislature, where the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Zailani, including other APC stakeholders, hosted the commissioner to make his declaration for the 2023 governorship election.
The Commissioner asserted that he has in the system with the Governor and part of his team, as a commissioner and former chief of Staff.
The commissioner laid emphasis on consolidating the foundation Governor El-Rufai has laid a foundation for the development of the state. He argued that the successor should be someone who has been part of the process. He insisted that he is the right person to step in after El-Rufai.
Governor El-Rufai had previously revealed that his successor will emerge from the team that has been working with him in the past eight years.
