Nasarawa State House of Assembly passes N156.6 billion supplementary budget
The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has passed a supplementary budget of N156.6 billion for the 2024 fiscal year, bringing the state’s total budget to N356.56 billion. The funds will help complete ongoing projects and enhance the state’s revenue generation efforts.
The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has passed a supplementary budget of N156.6 billion for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2024. The passage of the bill was announced by the Speaker of the House, Mr. Danladi Jatau, during the plenary session on Wednesday in Lafia.
Following the approval, Jatau explained that once the bill receives the governor’s assent, the state government would be authorized to access funds for the completion of ongoing infrastructure and development projects across the state. He emphasized that while the executive arm had made significant strides in revenue generation during the year, more funding was still required to fully complete key projects.
“The total size of the recurrent expenditure after adjustment stands at N150.31 billion, while the capital expenditure has been adjusted to N206.25 billion,” Jatau said, adding that the total adjusted budget for 2024 is now N356.56 billion.
The Speaker directed the Clerk of the House to produce a clean copy of the bill and transmit it to the Governor for formal assent.

The assembly had approved a N199.8 billion budget for the 2024 fiscal year.
The supplementary appropriation has thus increased the state’s total budget for the year to N356.56 billion.
