Northern APC govs hold back as southern colleagues jet to London to visit Tinubu
It’s now clear why, for weeks, the APC national leader Bola Tinubu has kicking his heels in the UK, and the party’s governors and leaders, especially from the southwest, have made his London house a mecca of sorts.
Following the first visit by Lagos Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Hon James Faleke, two more governors from the region have jetted out to visit the former Lagos governor.
Ondo Rotmi Akeredolu and his Ekiti counterpart Kayode Fayemi met him August 25.
Reports initially had it he was down with a terminal ailment, only for the media to be awash again with stories of him recovering from a multiple knee surgeries.
Tinubu, many believe, is gearing u for the 2023 presidential election, and he’s probably flexing his muscle—literally—for the rigour.
Critics say age and failing health might be factors against his ambition.
Tinubu, however, has yet to declare his intention.
But up till now, no northern governors from the ruling party–or any of its leader–has visited the national leader–except President Muhammadu Buhari.
He hopped in to check on him on his way back from medical vacation early in August.
