Presidency 2023: Tinubu seeks endorsement from Ondo traditional rulers
The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, at the weekend visited traditional rulers in Ondo State, seeking their endorsement for his 2023 presidential ambition. Tinubu held consultative meetings with traditional rulers from Owo, Okitipupa, and Akure, the three senatorial districts in the state.
Tinubu during the visit to the traditional rulers promised to turn around the fortunes of Nigeria if elected as president in the 2023 general elections.
The former Lagos State governor revealed that his decision to contest for President of Nigeria is borne out of the need to transform the country economically. He appealed to the royal fathers and the people of Ondo State to support his presidential ambition.
Tinubu highlighted that he will focus his priorities on Agricultural development, industrialisation, education, beside other sectors that would help the country and Ondo State in achieving their full potentials.
Traditional rulers, who include the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo; the Olugbo of Ugbo, Oba Fredrick Akinruntan; and the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, at acknowledged the impact of Tinubu in breeding leaders in the southwest and transforming Lagos during his tenure. They expressed confidence in his leadership ability and promised to support him to fulfill his ambition.
