Finally, why Harry Kane boycotted Tottenham’s training revealed
It has been a tensed atmosphere at White Hart Lane since Tottenham’s vice-captain Harry Kane failed to turn up for training on Monday as supposed.
The situation has since left some speculations on the future of the England’s captain amidst robust interest from Premier League champions Manchester City.
Though it has been reported that the Premier League champions have had an eye-watering £100million offer rejected out of hand for Kane, but it is expected that the Etihad club will return with another bid for the Tottenham’s vice-captain in due course, despite Spurs chairman Daniel Levy seemingly digging his heels in.
Meanwhile, report reaching National Daily has thrown light on the reason behind Kane’s disappearance from training as it gathers that Kane and his camp believe the club have gone back on a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ that was in place to let the attacker leave for a nine-figure fee and the episode.
And if the above position is to be believed to be true, it therefore means that strange episode at White Hart Lane may linger longer than imagined.
Tottenham’s recently appointed manager, Nuno Espirito Santo was though coy to comment on Kane’s stand-off with the club after their 2-2 draw in a friendly match against Chelsea on Wednesday, but was quick to reassure fans that he was working on the possibility of speaking with his vice-captain soon.
‘It is not that I don’t want to comment, what I believe that all the issues relating Harry we should discuss internally, among us and try to avoid any kind of public argument or discussion about it,’ the newly-appointed Tottenham manager told reporters.
‘We have to solve the situation but between us.’
Asked whether he intends to talk with Kane, the Portuguese added: ‘I expect to speak with Harry soon, I didn’t get the chance yet.
