Security expert condemns murder of Kwara student, calls for full investigation
Dr. Jimoh Ahmed-Ayinla, a renowned security expert and Chairman of the Ahmed Ayinla Foundation, has strongly condemned the recent murder of Hafsa Lawal, a final-year student at Kwara College of Education, Ilorin, describing the crime as both ungodly and barbaric.
According to reports by National Daily Newspaper, Alfa AbdulRahman Bello was arrested by the police on February 11 in connection with the alleged murder of Hafsa Lawal.
The victim, a dedicated NCE student, was tragically killed in a violent incident.
Speaking with the press on Wednesday, Dr. Ahmed-Ayinla, a former acting provost of Kwara College of Education, expressed his outrage over the crime, calling it the “highest form of wickedness.”
He emphasized that such acts of violence were not only immoral but a direct affront to human dignity.
The security expert, who also founded Amina Group of Schools in Ilorin, called on law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the murder, urging them to ensure that all individuals involved in the crime are swiftly brought to justice.
Ahmed-Ayinla praised the quick response of the Nigerian Police, who initiated prompt investigations leading to the arrest of Bello.
He also urged the judiciary to handle the case diligently, emphasizing that “justice delayed is justice denied.”
The former provost urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant, advising them to intervene if they suspect their children are associating with negative influences or engaging in harmful behaviors.

Further, he appealed to the Kwara State Government to take appropriate action following the trial, warning that the outcome should serve as a strong deterrent to others contemplating criminal acts.
In expressing his condolences, Dr. Ahmed-Ayinla extended heartfelt sympathy to the family of the deceased, encouraging them to find solace in their faith in God.
He also urged students to keep their families informed of their whereabouts, especially when leaving school premises or receiving calls.
“I pray for the peaceful repose of Hafsa Lawal’s soul, whose promising future was tragically cut short,” Ahmed-Ayinla added. “This is a painful reminder for all students to stay connected with their loved ones and be cautious of the company they keep.”
