Sen. Nwoko seeks restoring Aniocha North II State Constituency
The senator, representing Delta North senatorial district in the National Assembly, Senator (Dr.) Prince Ned Nwoko, is seeking restoration of Aniocha North II State Constituency and the conduct of elections in the constituency by the INEC.
The senator, accordingly, moved a motion on the floor of the Senate for the restoration of Aniocha North II State Constituency, following a Supreme Court judgment affirming its existence.
According to Nwoko @Prince_NedNwoko,
“Yesterday, on the floor of the Senate, I moved a motion for the restoration of Aniocha North II State Constituency, following a Supreme Court judgment affirming its existence.
“The people of Idumuje-Unor, Idumuje-Ugboko, Nkwu-Nzu, Ugboba, Idumuogo, Ugbodu, Ubulubu, Anioma, and Ogodo in Aniocha North LGA initiated legal action in 2014 to reclaim their constituency.
“Though initially dismissed by the Federal High Court, the Court of Appeal in Benin ruled in their favor on November 22, 2017, ordering INEC to restore the constituency and conduct elections.
“The Supreme Court upheld this decision on November 29, 2019, making it final and legally binding.
“Justice must prevail. I remain committed to ensuring fair representation for Delta North and the full implementation of this judgment.”
