The Senate, on Tuesday, adjourned sittings for the next two months as the conflicts in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) get out of control and the executives deploys security agencies to go after the Presiding Officers of the Senate.

President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki announced the adjournment at plenary on Tuesday following a motion on the siege on Saraki and the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu by security operatives.

The Senate is expected to reconvene on September 25, 2018.

Security operatives had in the early hours of Tuesday laid siege on the residence of Senate President Saraki and that of Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu. Saraki before the security blockade was invited by the Police on Monday night to report to Force Headquarters in relation to the Offa bank robbery which the Senate President had previously responded to in writing.

The security operatives blockade stopped Ekweremadu from attending the Tuesday sitting of the Senate.
