Shehu Sani reveals why political appointees don’t want the electoral bill
Former senator representing Kaduna central senatorial district, Hon. Shehu Sani, has expressed his thoughts concerning the reason why some politicians don’t want the electoral bill. He expressed that the requirement that all political appointees should resign from their positions before contesting an election is the reason why they do not want the electoral bill.
The former member of the red chamber made his point via social media, where he opined that the much talked about delay in the electoral bill process is because political office holder are not predisposed to the clause which requires them to resign before contesting in elections.
He made the revelation through his twitter handle, and his tweet reads;
“Political appointees don’t want to resign before contesting elective positions; that’s the clause they don’t want in the electoral bill, hence the delay.”
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari refused to sign the bill into law citing some irregularities, one of which is the issue of the mode party primaries. But the bill is still experiencing delay despite the required amendments by law makers.
