According expert, different sleeping positions should be observed during pregnancy. In this article, we will discuss 5 sleeping positions you should avoid during pregnancy:
The first sleeping position to avoid during pregnancy is sleeping with your back. This is because the entire weight of the baby rests on the back and the spine. This can cause serious injury to the mother. This can also lead to constipation, back pain, leg cramps, difficulty in breathing, and too much acidity in the stomach. Also, sleeping on your back can affect the baby. It affects the baby because it hinders the development of the child.
The second portion you shouldn’t sleep on is on your stomach. Whether you are in the first or third trimester you shouldn’t sleep on your stomach. This is dangerous for the baby because you are squeezing the baby in the womb. This can also lead to miscarriage.
Thirdly, it is good to avoid sleeping on your right-hand side. Though this is not dangerous you can use it intermittently. Sleeping on the right side will cause the whole weight of the uterus to fall on the liver.
Best Position To Sleep On
The best position to sleep on as a pregnant woman is to sleep on your left side. This is because you give your baby a proper chance to develop and breathe in your stomach. This is the recommended position to sleep in as your baby will not feel discomfort.
