The Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has officially invited 5,928 applicants for interviews in its ongoing recruitment process for senior school teachers.
In a statement issued on Monday by the TESCOM Chairman, Malam Taoheed Bello, the interviews will take place between February 25 and March 1, 2025, at the Kwara State University International Conference Centre and Kwara Banquet Hall in Ilorin.
Bello disclosed that the cut-off mark for Kwara indigenes applying for non-STEM subjects is set at 60%. However, candidates from Baruten, Isin, Oke Ero, and Patigi Local Government Areas have a lower cut-off mark of 50% to ensure sufficient applicants from these areas.
The TESCOM Chairman emphasized that for applicants interested in teaching STEM subjects such as Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Computer Science, and Geography, the cut-off mark for all Kwara indigenes is set at 50%.
This decision aims to address the high demand for qualified STEM teachers across the state.
Additionally, 93 applicants from Kaiama Local Government Area have been invited for the interview, as well as 37 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) who participated in the Computer Based Test (CBT).
For non-indigenes, the cut-off mark has been pegged at 70% for all subject areas.

As part of the recruitment process, shortlisted candidates will undergo drug tests at approved National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) centers.
This recruitment exercise marks a significant step in bolstering the teaching workforce in Kwara State’s senior schools.
