Trade-off: How FG rewarded Kanu for countering IPOB order
IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu in DSS detention has been cut some slack somehow—he got access to his brother Emmanuel Kanu in company with his lawyer August 16.
The access came about two days after he ordered his outlawed secessionist group to suspend its planned sit-at-home protest every Monday across the southeast
Igbo leaders and political office holders condemned the initial order they considered dangerous to the economy of the region.
The meeting between the Kanus on Monday was confirmed by his lead counsel Ifeanyi Ejiofor.
“We just concluded today’s routine visit on a very sound note. What made today’s visit unique is that today marks it the first Day Our Client -Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, is setting his eyes on his sibling,” he tweeted.
“In my company during the Family’s maiden visit to Our Client. Our Client is Prince Emmanuel Kanu (Fine Boy), the Representative of Our Client’s family.
“Our Client- Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is very strong in spirit.
“You will hear the rest from Prince Emmanuel Kanu.”
Kanu was brought in to Nigeria in July after years of being declared wanted for jumping bail in Nigeria.
He has resumed his terrorism trial before Justice Binta Nyako of an Abuja Federal High Court.
The sit-at-home order saw close o a dozen people killed August 9 when it started.
