Troops battle kidnappers in Bayelsa
- rescues two persons

It was a battle of the fittest as troops of Joint Task Force Operation Delta Safe overwhelmed some sea robbers/pirates and kidnappers at Oluwasiri and Agbidama creeks in Brass and Ekeremor LGAs of Bayelsa State.
Speaking in Bayelsa on Wednesday, the Commander, Rear Admiral Apochi Sulaiman, noted that “During the operations in Oluwasiri particularly, the troops rescued two kidnapped victims.

One of the victims was said to have sustained gunshot injury during the crossfire with the kidnappers. It was further gathered that the victim was currently receiving medical attention in one of military facility in Port Harcourt.

Admiral Sulaiman added that “Items recovered during the raids included: One HK 21E rifle, one Rocket Propelled Gun launcher, four AK 47 rifles, three pistols, 61 pieces of 12.7/108mm ammo, five empty rifles magazine, one empty pistol magazines, 36 pieces of 7.62mm ammo, 15 pieces of 9mm ammo among others items”
He further reiterated that the Joint Task Force has resolved to ensure peaceful socio-economic environment for business to thrive warning all criminal elements to repent or face their wrath.
