17 dead as tanker, bus collided on Lagos-Ibadan expressway
No fewer than 17 persons lost their lives when a Mazda bus collided with a petroleum tanker before the Isara bridge, on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
The accident occurred at 5 on Friday morning
Public Education Sector Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Commander Florence Okpe said route violation was the suspected cause of the accident.
According to her, the head-on collision resulted in a fire outbreak, adding that three bodies—a man, a woman, and a girl— have been identified while others got burnt beyond recognition.
The command could not ascertain which of the vehicles was at fault. The Mazda was coming from Lagos while the tanker was coming from Ibadan.
