2019: I’ll be Nigeria’s first female President, Ezekwesili declares
- Consults IBB in Minna
Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), consolidating her mobilization for support for the 2019 race, held a consultative meeting with former Head of State, retired General Ibrahim Babangida in Minna, Niger State.
National Daily learnt that the meeting at the Hill Top residence of IBB in Minna, took place after Ezekwesili had attended an event in Minna. The closed-door meeting was said to have lasted for hours; and Ezekwesili was said to have revealed the deliberations at the meeting on Twitter.
The publicity director the presidential campaign organization had confirmed that the deliberation was focused on the future of Nigeria and the 2019 elections. The ACPN presidential candidate at the meeting appealed for the support of the former head of state. She is about the last presidential candidate to have gone to seek the support of the former head of state. Several others went to the Hill Top residence at the stage they were presidential aspirants but Ezekwesili went as a presidential candidate. However, it is expected that during the electioneering campaign IBB may host more presidential candidates.
Ezekwesili has vowed she is in the presidential race to win and become Nigeria’s first female president.
