Burutu boils as gunmen kidnap traditional ruler, 25 others
A community in Burutu Local Government, Delta State has been thrown onto turmoil after gunmen kidnapped the traditional ruler of the community.
The gunmen were said to have invaded a location where the community was holding local election for the community executives on Monday afternoon. The traditional Prime Minister of Tuomo community in Burutu, Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State, Chief Mike Loyibo, and 25 others were identified to be kidnapped by the gunmen, who flee with their captives to unknown destination.
The police officers detailed to the traditional Prime Minister, Chief Mike Liyibo, were said to have ran for their safety during the heavy exchange of gun fire with the gunmen.
Meanwhile, security operatives have been deployed to the area for manhunt pf the kidnappers on rescue operation of the kidnapped victims.
Residents of the community were said to be infuriated over the kidnap incident. The youths were said to be mobilizing for mass operation in combing the bushes around the community aided by the vigilante groups to reinforce the police and other security operatives.
