BNL cautions against military exercise in Southeast Nigeria
The Biafra Nations League (BNL) operating from the Bakassi Peninsula, on Thursday condemned military operations code named “Operations Golden Down” by the Nigeria Army in the southeast and other parts of southern Nigeria. The BNL protested that the operations are senseless. BNL in a statement jointly signed by the National Leader, Princewill Chimezie Richards, Deputy Leader, Ebuta Akor Takon, berated the federal government, which they said arranges with Boko Haram members to surrender, then, allegedly recruit the terrorists into the Nigerian Army, adding that the FG recruits the Boko Haram into the to serve other purposes across the country.
The BNL, therefore, demanded that the federal government should immediately withdraw the troops and send them to confront bandits, Boko Haram terrorists and ISWAP in the northwest and northeast, including the north central. The League was of the view that the southeast people have denounced Nigeria. they challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to conduct referendum in the territories within the Biafran republic.
