NESG begins registration for National Economic Dialogue
The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) has commenced registration for National Economic Dialogue with the theme: “Nigeria’s Economic Future: 25 Years of Democracy and Beyond”. The dialogue is organised towards shaping Nigeria’s future.
According to the NESG, the National Economic Dialogue with the theme “Nigeria’s Economic Future: 25 Years of Democracy and Beyond”, will hold on August 21, 2024.

The Group revealed that the National Economic Dialogue aims to explore how Nigeria can harness the strengths of its democratic framework to achieve sustainable economic development.
According to the NESG, Key Areas of Focus include:
Economic Trajectory Since 1999: A detailed analysis of Nigeria’s economic performance over the past 25 years, identifying key successes, challenges, and the impact of policy inconsistency.
Policy Consistency and Continuity: Exploring the role of continuity and consistency in economic policies in fostering a stable and predictable economic environment.
Institutional Strengthening: Identifying strategies to build robust institutions that can effectively enforce laws, manage public resources, and curb corruption.
Learning from Successful Models: Drawing insights from the experiences of the Asian Tigers and Malaysia, focusing on how these countries achieved economic transformation through strategic long-term planning and policy consistency.
Inclusive Governance: Promoting civic engagement and participation to ensure that development plans are inclusive and reflect the needs and aspirations of all segments of society.
