Armed robbers attack travelers on Ife-Akure expressway, rape woman
A group of armed robbers attacked travelers on the Ife-Akure expressway on Wednesday, resulting in a rape and robbery incident.
According to reports, eight armed men stopped two vehicles, a commercial bus and a car, near Osu.
The robbers forced the passengers to surrender their valuables, including ATM cards, and proceeded to transfer funds from their accounts.
A victim, Wale, recounted the harrowing ordeal, stating that a female passenger in the car was raped while the bus driver was shot but survived.
Wale and several others escaped into the nearby bushes and alerted security operatives.

Responding to the incident, law enforcement agencies, including police, vigilantes, and members of the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service, arrived at the scene and initiated a search.
One of the armed robbers was apprehended and taken into custody.
The injured victims have been transported to a hospital for medical treatment, while the arrested suspect is currently assisting with the investigation.
