APC questions Okorocha, six others over anti-party activities
The All Progressives Congress, APC, Imo State, had set up a Disciplinary Committee, which on Wednesday commenced the probe of Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and six other APC members over allegations of anti-party activities.
The invitation letter signed by the Disciplinary Committee Chairman, Matthew Omegara; and the Secretary, Kevin Ugwu on Tuesday revealed that the summoned APC members were invited for questioning into what it described as “ugly activities”. The outcome of the probe would be made public after the investigations are completed.
The invitation letter read in part: “The above-named are directed to appear before a disciplinary committee of the All Progressives Congress, Imo State, to answer to complaints made against them respectively on anti-party activities, conduct likely to have adverse effects on the party and bring the party into hatred, contempt, ridicule or disrepute and factionalisation of party membership.”
The APC stalwarts invited for interrogation are Governor Okorocha, APC candidate for Imo East Senatorial District, Emma Ojinere; House of Representatives candidate for Ezinihitte Mbaise/Ahiazu Mbaise Federal Constituency, Rapheal Igbokwe; candidate for Ehime Mbano/IhitteUboma/Obowo Federal Constituency, Chike Okafor; Imo State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, Ugonna Ozuruigbo; Eddy Iheanacho and a governorship aspirant, Obinna Mbata.
The outcome of the investigations is being awaited at the time of this report.
