Facebook troll apologises to Mercy Chinwo’s family over allegations on child’s paternity
Okoronkwo Ejike, a Facebook troll, has issued an apology to Minister Mercy Chinwo, Pastor Blessed, and gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey for his insensitive and calumnious comments regarding the paternity of their son, Charis.
The controversy arose after Mercy Chinwo and her husband unveiled their son’s face for the first time, prompting reactions from netizens.
Ejike’s Facebook post claimed that the baby resembled Nathaniel Bassey and suggested the possibility of a romantic affair between the gospel singers leading to the child’s birth.
In his words, “This is the true face of Mercy Chinwo’s child she was hiding after giving birth. But the truth is that this little baby looks exactly like Singer Nathaniel Bassey.
“Nothing anybody wan reason me oh, this child is Nathaniel Bassey’s baby, just maybe there was a secret away match that occurred, otherwise how can we make empirical sense of this.”
However, Ejike faced severe backlash from social media users for his remarks, prompting him to issue a public apology.
In his apology, Ejike expressed regret for his comments and extended his apologies to Mercy Chinwo, Nathaniel Bassey, Pastor Blessed, and anyone else who was offended by his post.
“I hereby tender an unreserved apology to Mercy Chinwo, Nathaniel Bassey and Pastor Blessed for my take on the striking resemblance of Pastor Blessed’s baby.
“And to everyone who got hurt over my post, I’m deeply very sorry.
Love and light for Cosmic positive vibrations, Shalom,” he wrote.
