Hiddink Wary of Chelsea Job

Guus Hiddink has admitted he is in two minds over taking the vacant manager’s role at Chelsea given their “bad situation”.

The former Real Madrid and PSV boss is already in London to take over at Stamford Bridge following the sacking of Jose Mourinho on Thursday.

Hiddink previously coached the Blues on an interim basis following Luiz Felipe Scolari’s departure in 2009. But the Dutchman has conceded that he does not know whether he wants to take up the position for a second time.

“I want to gain as much information as possible. Chelsea is in a bad situation and there are reasons for that,” he told De Telegraaf.

“Before I take a decision, I want to have insight.  The coaches will do that [take charge against Sunderland on Saturday]. Or I will visit the match depends on my first conversation. In response, I determine whether I stay longer in London to discuss the matter further.”

Chelsea face Sunderland this weekend just one point above the relegation zone after losing nine of their first 16 Premier League matches this term and the Dutchman is expected to watch from the stands at Stamford Bridge.
