Ikoyi: Family of Osibona’s ‘associate’ identified in rubble speaks out
There have been speculations and theories that the late CEO of Foursquare Heights Ltd and his manager were in the 21-storey high-rise when it collapsed, and many even believe the associate was already identified.
But the family of the identified man, Wale Bob-Oseni, has spoken out to clear all disinformation.
Bob-Oseni was just a victim of the circumstance.
In a statement, his widow Adeola and his sibling Abass described him as a “hardworking young and upwardly mobile Nigerian”.
“It is not true that Wale Bob Oseni was a director or contractor in the Fourscore Properties construction transaction,” the family stated in the statement.
“The owner, Femi Osibona and Wale, were both alumni of Mayflower School, Ikenne where both of them bonded.
“It was this camaraderie that made Osibona invite him to see the dream project he was building.”
According to them, they hd all hoped Bob-Oseni would survive it as emergency management workers dug through the mountain of rubble for the casualties.
“Since we identified his body, we have been struggling with the nightmarish reality of our irreparable loss, the chasm of his absence and the multi-dimensional proportions of this transition from being to nothingness,” the statement added.
