Labour Party Crisis: I’ll not be distracted, Plateau guber candidate, Margif assures
By Kingsley Chukwuka
The Labour Party Governorship Candidate in Plateau State, Amb. Yohanna Margif has reassured his supporters and the Plateau people that he remains the only recognised candidate of the Party in the State.
Margif said he is only distracted by desperate politicians who want to manipulate the process against the wishes of the people for their selfish gains.
He said since he won the governorship ticket politicians who new nothing about the Labour party, haven seen the soaring influence of the Party, thronged in, to manipulate themselves with dubious ambition to snatch the governorship ticket from him.
Margif stated this on Friday in Jos, while briefing journalists on the status of his position as the sole candidate for the 2023 governorship election.
In his words: “It is no news that my name has been in the news for quite some time. In spite of all sheds of coloration, ill wishes and manipulations from high and low places, I make bold to tell or remind you that I am the genuinely elected gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party in Plateau State.
“I must confess that all these plots and manipulations by desperate politicians have distracted me as I have to directly or indirectly go to the Press to counter their mischievous and misleading information concerning Plateau Labour Party.
“That notwithstanding, I am making this address to assure and reassure you, our teeming supporters that nothing has changed from what happened on the 9th of June, 2022 at Retna Suit Multi-purpose Hall Sabon Bariki Jos South during my Governorship primaries.
“On this note therefore, I urge you all to be conscious of rumour peddlers whose business is nothing but spreading the rumour for selfishly-induced gains. It would interest you to know that I have put all those baseless, unfounded allegations and fake news behind to forge ahead with my right time call in the interest of Plateau citizens”, Margif said.
