Man, Utd’s new signings not game changers, place Ten Hag at risk of sack
The poor performance of Manchester United in the current English Premier League season has been attributed to the new players signed by the management of the club. The loss of the first two league matches was perceived to have created the risk of firing the manager of Man United, Ten Hag.
These are the views of a former player of Liverpool, Graeme Souness, who emphasized that the players Man. U brought in are not game changers. This, he believed, is affecting the club at the early stage of the season. Souness expressed perturbation that the clock is already ticking on Ten Hag’s tenure as Manchester United manager, noting that the loss of first two Premier League games constitutes threat of being sacked by the management.
Ten Hag led Man United to an away Premier League 4-0 defeat by Brentford at Gtech Community Stadium, after the 2-1 defeat at home by Brighton in the first game.
According to Souness, “I think it’s a difficult time for Man United.
“I’m not sure with this group of players and this manager they are going to be any different to where they were last year.
“The players they have brought in are not game changers for me.
“I think the clock is ticking on him already. That is the nature of being a Man United manager at this time. They expect big things from him, he’s been successful at Ajax in what is a much inferior league to the Premier League.
“The demands there are nothing like what he’s got on his shoulders in the Premier League and managing what is arguably the biggest club in the world.”
