In interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria, National Daily Newspaper gathered that parents expressed frustration over the increased expenses associated with preparing their children for school.
Many noted that the rising costs, which began last year, have persisted into this year, exacerbating the financial strain.
Chimuze Eze, a banker, highlighted the impact of the recent increase in petrol prices on transportation costs and subsequent ripple effects on other goods and services, including tuition fees.
Jessica Nana, a mother of two, decried the high cost of school supplies and transportation, making it difficult for parents to adequately prepare their children for school.

Joseph Okoh, a businessman, shared his decision to move his children to a more affordable school to alleviate the financial burden.
He emphasized the challenges of meeting basic needs, such as food and transportation, amidst the rising costs.
Funmilayo Ade, a resident of Nyanya, echoed the sentiments of other parents, noting that the financial burden on families has become more pronounced.
She expressed concerns about the ability to afford necessary school supplies and cope with potential future increases in fuel prices.
