Osun Decides: Aisha Yesufu reacts as video of voters demanding for results to be uploaded to INEC surfaces
As the Osun State gubernatorial elections gradually roles to an end, a video showing the moment some voters at a polling unit tried to protect their votes by demanding that the officials upload the results to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) severs before leaving the vicinity, has surfaced online.
In the footage, the voters could be seen blocking the vehicle conveying the electoral officials, in a bid to prevent them from leaving the area without uploading the results of the ballots cast in their polling unit to INEC servers.
As expected, the incident has drawn the attention of some prominent Nigerians who took to their social media accounts to air their opinions.
Sharing the video on her Twitter handle a few minutes ago, renowned human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu expressed her excitement at the actions of the masses.
In her tweet, the activist gave kudos to the Buhari regime for its decision to grant ascent to the electronic transmission of results from polling units to INEC servers after votes have been cast.
According to her, the newly amended Electoral Act that President Buhari signed earlier this year would be a game changer in the upcoming 2023 general elections.
