It was learnt that soon after the robbers attacked their victims, the SARS were alerted hence they swooped on them and gunned down a couple of them while others were said to have been caught and lynched by angry mob.
A Police source said the criminals were chased and intercepted at Barracks road. However, others said they were chased from Bogobiri.
A witness narrated, “They were chased from Bogobiri axis and shot one dead while running, two more were beaten to death by a mob and one was found dead inside a nearby compound located after the Nigerian Chronicle head office along Barracks road.
“I don’t know how the last one died,” he reiterated.
