Storm Nicholas cuts off electricity from 450,000 Homes in Texas
Dangerous storm Nicholas ravaging Texas after flooding coastal towns cuts off 450,000 homes from electricity. The dangerous storm was said to be weakened as it moved inland on Tuesday, surging into the southern state in the US, denying close to half a million homes access to power.
Nicholas was said to have waved ashore overnight, sweeping the coastline as a Category One hurricane, then quickly diverting to Houston, Texas’s largest city.
It was said that electricity provider, CenterPoint, indicated that over 450,000 customers in the area were cut off from power on Tuesday. However, the figure was said to have reduced below 380,000 in the later morning hours.
