Timi Frank tackles Bode George over comments on Atiku’s 2027 presidential ambitions
Timi Frank, the former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has sharply criticized Chief Olabode George, a former Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), over his recent comments regarding Atiku Abubakar’s presidential prospects in 2027.
Frank, in a statement on Thursday in Abuja, dismissed George’s claim that the former Vice President would not become President in 2027, urging him to “continue to wallow in self-delusion.”
Frank emphasized that George lacks the authority to decide Nigeria’s presidential fate in 2027.
George had suggested that Atiku should wait until 2031 to contest for the presidency again, insisting that a Southerner should occupy the office from 2023 to 2031 in line with “the reality of our country, the PDP Constitution, and our polity.”

In response, Frank reminded George that he does not have the power to dictate the outcome of the 2027 presidential election.
Frank, who is also the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, criticized George for what he described as unwarranted assertions.
He questioned George’s authority to predict the political future, referencing George’s 2009 conviction by a Lagos High Court on charges of abuse of office and contract splitting—a conviction later overturned by the Supreme Court in 2013.
Frank further accused George of making unfulfilled predictions about President Bola Tinubu, including his claims that Tinubu would not win the 2023 presidential election and his vow to renounce his Nigerian citizenship if Tinubu became president.
He suggested that George’s recent comments were an attempt to seek political favor.
“If God says Atiku will be President in 2027, a thousand Olabode Georges living on Supreme Court’s magnanimity cannot annul it,” Frank asserted. He added that Atiku’s political future rests on divine will and the Nigerian electorate, not on the opinions of George or others seeking relevance.
Frank concluded by calling on George to apologize to President Tinubu for his past political misjudgments and focus on his future rather than undermining Atiku for political gain.
