Two arraigned for stealing Oyo government bus
Two men, Mutiu Adeyemo, 50, and Michael Omidiji, 44, appeared before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Monday, accused of stealing a bus belonging to the Oyo State government.
The defendants, whose addresses were not disclosed, faced charges of conspiracy and theft.
Both pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutor Sikiru Opaleye stated that the alleged offences occurred on February 20 at 9:30 p.m. in the Ikoloba area of Ibadan.
He stated that the defendants unlawfully removed the bus, valued at N12 million, from its parking location without the state government’s permission.

Opaleye said the defendants allegedly committed the offences contrary to sections 516 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The magistrate, Olabisi Ogunkanmi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.
She thereafter adjourned the case until August 12 for a hearing.
