Wike’s allies, PDP G5, struggles for survival, transforms into ‘Integrity Group’
The agitating five governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, PDP G5, and other allies demanding the resignation of the PDP national Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, are getting troubled with their agitations and struggling for survival. At the meeting of the group in Lagos at the weekend, the G5 and their allies transformed into integrity group in the party.
At the meeting of the PDP G5 attended by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State; including former governors Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State; Donald Duke of Cross River State; Jonah Jang of Plateau State as well as PDP Deputy Chairman South, Taofeek Arapaja; PDP Vice Chairman South-South, Chief Dan Orbih; Senator Olaka Nwogu, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, Senator Nasif Suleiman, in Lagos at the residence of Bode George, the stakeholders resolved to form an Integrity Group.
Former Governor Jang in a media interaction after the meeting declared: “We at this meeting have decided to stand on the decisions we took at our last Port Harcourt meeting. We hereby again reiterate that the window for reconciliation in our great party, the PDP remains open.”
Governor Makinde also said: “The G5 is all about the Integrity Group. You can see us, five serving governors, as the face of this struggle but the leaders and elders of the party that you see here are the people behind those faces.
“We are this morning in the South West to review the situation within our party, to review where we are and to also look at what is going to happen in the coming elections.”
