2 Southern states APC has vowed to win in 2023
With over 20 states currently under its control, the All Progressives Congress, APC, remains visibly the most dominant party across the nation. However, despite this dominance, the party has continued to express it readiness to take more states especially within the southern region, from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the forthcoming 2023 general election.
Among these states which the APC has vowed to win in the 2023 poll, are these two (2) below;
1. Abia state
The Abia state chapter of the APC recently declared, that the party was fully ready to wrestle power from the ruling PDP in the 2023 poll. The party which noted that the state had suffered from maladministration under the ruling party, argued that it (APC) had the requisite human and material resources to win the state in 2023. However, considering that the Abia APC has suffered from internal divisions and even witnessed parallel congresses in recent times; will the party be able to challenge the PDP in the forthcoming Gubernatorial poll? As things stand, unless the party is able to settle its internal issues, it may not be able to win this state in 2023.
2. Oyo state
While collapsing their structures into a unified front earlier in the year, the two (2) major warring factions within the Oyo APC (Ajimobi Legacy Forum and United Forum); reportedly vowed to take back the governance of the state from the PDP in 2023. Nevertheless, considering that the divisive problems which contributed to the failure of the party at the 2019 poll still persist, it remains to be seen whether APC will be able to muster the strength required to upstage the ruling party at the forthcoming poll.
What do you think of this? Does the APC have what it takes to add these 2 states to its control in 2023?
