Coronavirus hits Sierra Leone at last
Sierra Leone has been one of the lucky countries in the world from coronavirus infection until Tuesday when the country confirmed first case of the infectious virus.
President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone in a national television speech on Tuesday disclosed that coronavirus was imported into Senegal by a 37-year-old man who arrived the country from France on March 16 and was being quarantined on arrival.
“When I did my first coronavirus news conference, I said that it was not a matter of if, but when. Well, ‘when’ has come,” the President declared.
This is the first case of coronavirus infection in Sierra Leone.it is expected that the President would put measures in place to check the spread and save the people from an epidemic outbreak.
