The Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, (FUOYE) on Tuesday advised candidates seeking admission into the university to disregard fake letters of admission coming from various online platforms.

Mr Wole Balogun, Special Adviser on Media to the Vice Chancellor of the University, gave the advice in a statement he released to newsmen in Oye-Ekiti.

Balogun said that the attention of the VC, Prof Abayomi Fasina, had been drawn to the purported admission notices and letters allegedly offered by FUOYE.

He said the letters were said to have been issued through some online platforms on the portal of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to candidates who scored below 180 and 200.

He noted that the admission letters and notices on the various online platforms were fake and not emanating from the university.

The statement reads “Members of the public, especially, candidates seeking admission into FUOYE should beware of admission racketeers, offering fake admission notices and letters via hacked online platforms.

“We therefore wish to state categorically that the only admission list officially released from FUOYE are those on merit list.

“Currently, there has not been any other admission official list from FUOYE, apart from the list on merit.

“Any list or lists in circulation through any online platforms whatsoever, which are being branded as supplementary admission list from FUOYE are fake and did not emanate from FUOYE and should be regarded as scam.

“FUOYE  management is already compiling the supplementary admission list and will in due time release it soon.”
