Ramadan: Abdulwahid Islamic Foundation host 11th annual lecture series

The Abdulwahid Islamic Foundation, a faith based group poised to rewrite the narrative of how a perfect society should function, owing to the social vices that now riddled the nation is set to host its 11th Annual Ramadan Lecture & Special Prayers for the Nation on April 25, 2021.

In a jointly issued statement by the General Secretary Mr Razaq Aderibigbe and the President Engr. Ishaq Alabi, the group resolved to host the lecture in a more grand form as the COVID-19 pandemic did not allow such to hold in the previous year.

Slated programmes for the day includes Ramadan Lecture/special prayers for the nation, free medical services and distribution of food items.

“The topic was chosen to guide and admonish parents as one of the core trainers of future leaders or those grooming criminals by the clear neglect of their responsibilities over their wards.

“We want Parents to set out as role models and also come together as a community to uphold common interests, by caring for the indigents in the neighbourhood.

The group notes that the annual Ramadan programme will be preceded by a Free Medical service on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Agboyi-Ketu LCDA Secretariat, Agboyi Road, Alapere-Ketu, Lagos by 10am.

While the medical programme and other activities supported by Drugfield Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, the Executive Chairman of Agboyi Ketu LCD and Succour Foundation follows thereafter.

The Annual Ramadan lecture will be held on Sunday April 25, 2021 under the chairmanship of Hon. Yacoob Ekundayo Bush-Alebiosu, A former House of Representative Member and the Otunba Fuwagbuyi of Ijebu Land.

The Guest Speaker As-Shaykh Abdur-Razaq Abdul Malik will be speaking on the topic: “Re-Positioning the Family for National Development: Raising Positive Kids Through Responsible Parenting”. Other Speakers include  Mr. Waheed Ishola, Director, National Orientation Agency, Lagos State, and Mr. Ishaq Lanre-Lawal, Safety and Security Consultant & MD Livewire Ltd.

The group noted that the Ramadan Lecture and Special Prayers for the Nation will take place on Sunday, April 25th, 2021 at Tamroyal Multi-purpose Hall, Ajibola Crescent, Alapere-Ketu, Lagos State by 10 am.

This year’s event according to the organizers will be held in strict compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines and protocols.

“The exercise for year 2020 could not hold due to the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus pandemic and was substituted with the distribution of relief materials.

“All Muslim faithful must seize the opportunity of the 30-day Ramadan period to offer prayers to the Almighty God for complete restoration of the Nation.

“We also encourage Muslims in the State to be considerate of the needy around them by sharing out of the abundance given to them the Almighty Allah.

“The proposed Ramadan lecture  will feature discussions of germane topics by seasoned Islamic scholars deemed helpful in the areas of prayers and other spiritual issues throughout the period of the fast.

“Dignitaries expected at the event to grace the occasion include Barrister Sharaphardeen  Idowu  , Managing Partner, Braintree Solicitors, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, the Executive Chairman Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Hon. Saheed Babafemi, Honorable Member Kosofe Constituency 2, Lagos House of Assembly, Hon. Ganiyu Okanlawon, Honorable Member Kosofe Constituency 1, Lagos House of Assembly, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the Executive Chairman, Ikosi-Isher LCDA, Alhaji Nurudeen Abimbola, Alhaji Tajudeen Taiwo, MD, Totalum Nigeria Ltd, Chief Mrs. Yetunde Babajide, CEO Yefdot Group & Iyalode of Ojudu,  Sheikh AbdulRafi’I Babatunde Awwal and other Muslim clerics.”
