Tragic! Bride, groom die in ghastly motor accident minutes after traditional wedding
Two couples who just completed their traditional wedding, Sister Marvelous Okosun and Brother Theophilus Eze have been reportedly killed in a ghastly motor accident alongside some friends and church members in Edo state.
In a Facebook post by St Mathias Parish of the Catholic Church in Ologbo, Edo state, the tragic accident happened Iruekpen on their way from the traditional wedding of two Choristers of the church.
“It was a sad day for the Choir in Benin City Deanery and indeed the Archdiocese of Benin City on Sunday at around mid-day when news filtered in that some of our Brothers and Sisters of St Mathias Parish Ologbo were involved in a tragic accident in Iruekpen on their way from the traditional wedding of two Choristers.
“Unfortunately we lost the bride and the groom while some others are at different stages of medical conditions.
Those that died in the accident, according to the church included Brother David Ewere Ajayi(unit P.R.O); Sister Marvelous Okosun(bride); Brother Theophilus Eze(groom); Mr. Good luck Osayande(Vice Chairman Parish Pastoral Council), while others sustained serious injuries, and are currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in the city.
“May God grant quick recovery to those in the hospital and may the souls of the Departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace. May God give the family, friends, the choir and the entire CATHOLIC community the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
