PDP Youths revolt, seize Obaseki’s list of SSA, SA nominees

The youth wing of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State on Wednesday revolted against the list of nominees for appointment by Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State as Senior Special Assistants and Special Advisers to the governor.

The revolting PDP Youths seized the SSA and SAs list at the screening venue in Imaguero Primary School,  Benin City, agitating that the list released by the screening committee set up by Governor Obaseki was totally fake. They argued that the list does not represent the genuine names of those nominated by their various ward Chairmen and LGA chairmen, demanding Governor Obaseki to urgently intervene and return the original nominees and representatives of wards and local governments. The PDP Youths insisted that “the Governor should quickly call those committee Chairman and members to order,” and ensure that the real ward and local government nominees are screened for confirmation. They cautioned of the temptation of intractable frictions in the state PDP if the forged list is pushed forward for confirmation and substantive appointment.

The process is still ongoing at Imaguero Primary School, Benin City, at the time of this report.
